OUR HISTORY :

PrivaCom Ventures, inc. has for over 20 years been involved in many business deals, joint ventures, and independent enterprises.  From building its own telephone companies, to providing engineering support for fortune 500 companies, to being a major materials/equipment supplier, even funding startups; PrivaCom Ventures is always on the leading edge of infrastructure business.

SOME PRIVACOM VENTURES COMPANY'S, PAST & PRESENT:

PrivaCom, Inc.Formed in 1990 as a joint venture between PrivaCom Ventures & McDonald Management & Cable TV, PrivaCom was only the 2nd Competitive Access Carrier in the Southeast USA. Bell South's Largest Competitor it pioneered advanced technologies in Fiber Optics, Directional Boring, CATV over fiber, sidewalk pop-up access boxes and much more. Joint Ventures with Duke Power & Time Warner were firsts for both companies. PrivaCom was merged with Denver Teleport/Intelcom in 1993 at significant profits for all investors.

PV Telecom PrivaCom Ventures formed PV Telecom in 1998 with a merger of Myrtle Beach Telephone Co. and PV Tel of Tennessee. PV Telecom was one of the first small market CLEC's in the United States. PV Telecom was certified by 12 states and operated successfully until being sold to Grace Development Company's, AVANA Corp. in 2000.

ICG Access Services, Inc. PrivaCom, Inc. became part of Denver Teleport, which was moved from the Canadian Stock Exchange to the American Exchange and renamed Intelcom Group. This was later moved to the NASDAQ and renamed ICG Access Services. ICG operated throughout the United States and in many foreign countries. ICG carried on its own fiber optic lines significant portions of UUNET for MCI.  UUNET was the Internet backbone for the USA. ICG also provided Satellite services to Cruise Ships and the US Navy. PrivaCom Ventures provided Executives for ICG until 1995. They left ICG in great shape with significant profits for PrivaCom Ventures investors. No PrivaCom Investor lost money on ICG.

Columbia Corrosion Control PrivaCom Ventures founded Columbia Corrosion Control (CCC) in 1990. PrivaCom Ventures still owns 100% of this outstanding Company. CCC is one of the very few fully licensed and certified professional Corrosion Engineering companies operating in the Southeastern United States. CCC's customers are some of the largest corporations in America, and even includes the United States Dept. of Defense. Myrtle Beach Telephone Company In 1996 PrivaCom Ventures, Inc. created the Myrtle Beach Telephone Co. (MBT). MBT was the first CLEC located on the coast of South Carolina. It provided local & long distance telephone services to hotels, businesses, and governments located in this extensive Tourist haven. MBT forged joint ventures with nearly all the local telecom brokers, and provided access lines to GTE. MBT was very successful competing against America's largest Coop (at that time) Horry Telephone. MBT contributed to the removal of Horry's Coop status, thus saving the US Tax Payers millions of dollars. MBT was merged in 1998 into PV Tel, later PV Tel was sold to AVANA Corp. and all original MBT investors exited the ownership.

PrivaCom Ventures Engineering Co. Since 1990 PrivaCom Ventures has operated it own Infrastructure Engineering Company. This company has been active across America designing, installing and providing expert engineering services to the Electric Power and Telecommunications Industry. PrivaCom Ventures still owns 100% of this company and continues to operate it on a contract to contract basis. PrivaCom Engineering specializes in electrical transmission, distribution, substation and communications engineering.  It also has significant customers in the telecommunications industries of fiber optics, Wi-Fi, WiMax, VoIP, International, Interstate, local, Campus, and Building networks.
